ADAIR COUNTY

As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 839 people, 366 households, and 214 families residing in the city. The population density was 381.1 people per square mile (147.2/km²). There were 404 housing units at an average density of 183.5 per square mile (70.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.05% White, 0.12% Native American, 0.36% Asian, 0.24% from other races, and 0.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.19% of the population.


There were 366 households out of which 29.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.4% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.5% were non-families. 39.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.51.


In the city the population was spread out with 22.2% under the age of 18, 17.3% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 97.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.5 males.


The median income for a household in the city was $31,319, and the median income for a family was $42,847. Males had a median income of $27,083 versus $22,941 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,557. About 2.5% of families and 6.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.3% of those under age 18 and 8.6% of those age 65 or over.

GUTHRIE COUNTY

The 2010 census recorded a population of 10,954 in the county, with a population density of 18.5463/sq mi (7.1608/km2). There were 5,756 housing units, of which 4,544 were occupied.[1]

There were 4,641 households out of which 27.90% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.00% were married couples living together, 6.60% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.00% were non-families. 26.10% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.10% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.86.


In the county the population was spread out with 23.60% under the age of 18, 6.30% from 18 to 24, 24.80% from 25 to 44, 24.90% from 45 to 64, and 20.50% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 97.60 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.30 males.


The median income for a household in the county was $36,495, and the median income for a family was $43,601. Males had a median income of $31,018 versus $22,077 for females. The per capita income for the county was $19,726. About 5.80% of families and 8.00% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.90% of those under age 18 and 8.10% of those age 65 or over.

GREENE COUNTY

The 2010 census recorded a population of 9,336 in the county, with a population density of 16.4248/sq mi (6.3416/km2). There were 4,546 housing units, of which 3,996 were occupied.[1]

There were 4,205 households out of which 30.70% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.30% were married couples living together, 7.20% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.00% were non-families. 29.10% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.60% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.97.


In the county the population was spread out with 25.60% under the age of 18, 6.10% from 18 to 24, 24.30% from 25 to 44, 22.40% from 45 to 64, and 21.60% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 95.50 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.20 males.

AUDUBON COUNTY

The 2010 census recorded a population of 6,119 in the county, with a population density of 13.813/sq mi (5.333/km2). There were 2,972 housing units, of which 2,617 were occupied.[1]

The racial makeup of the county was 99.17% White, 0.15% Black or African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.03% from other races, and 0.38% from two or more races. 0.48% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There were 2,773 households out of which 30.10% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.40% were married couples living together, 5.60% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.50% were non-families. 28.20% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.70% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.94.


In the county the population was spread out with 25.90% under the age of 18, 5.00% from 18 to 24, 22.70% from 25 to 44, 22.90% from 45 to 64, and 23.50% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 92.00 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.10 males.


The median income for a household in the county was $32,215, and the median income for a family was $37,288. Males had a median income of $28,090 versus $17,528 for females. The per capita income for the county was $17,489.
