The nonprofit associated with Wild Rose Jefferson Monday donated $900,354 to a host of causes and organizations in the region.

Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, the nonprofit that holds the casino license for Wild Rose Jefferson, made its first distributions within a wide geographic reach around Jefferson, including each contiguous county--Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Dallas, Guthrie and Webster. Guthrie County Conservation director Joe Hanner said he's never seen a niche type of recreation explode like canoeing and kayaking over the last 10 to 15 years.
