Heartland was formed in 1987 when cooperatives in Dallas Center, Minburn and Panora merged. There have been 13 subsequent mergers that have created an organization that is now owned by 4,500 members. Only farmer-producers who own Class A shares may vote on Heartland issues at the annual meeting, but Heartland also has Class B nonvoting memberships. Read more »
