According to the latest monthly employment numbers (August) released by Iowa Workforce Development, employers in the Midwest Partnership Development Corporation region, consisting of Adair, Greene, and Guthrie counties, employ 14,673 workers. The number of "total employed" dipped below last month's employment one-year high, but was still higher than the first quarter of 2009, when the region's employment was most adversely impacted by the recession.
