Genesis Development has been in competition for $250,000 in Pepsi grant funds since April 1. The online voting process award $1.3 million each month to 32 different community projects in an effort to fun ideas that will have a postitive impact in communities accross the country. Read more »

The Annual Meeting of the members of Guthrie County REC hosted approximately 250 attendees including, employees and guests, on January 9, 2010, at the Lake Panorama National Resort, Panora. Recognized at the meeting was the Board of Directors, and employees honored for their years of service to the cooperative. Audubon County has become the fourth county to join Midwest Partnership EDC, strengthening the organization and its impact on economic development in west central Iowa. At the quarterly meeting of the Midwest Partnership board of directors held in Jefferson last month, Board President Mike Underwood and Audubon County Economic Development (ACED) President Troy Wessel signed an agreement making Audubon County an official partner in the alliance. While the state was bleeding red ink, Guthrie County and Audubon County were both making headway in the struggle for retail sales during a national recession last spring. Audubon County reported 16 percent growth, while Guthrie County was up 3.6 percent for the quarter ending June 30th. Read more »
