A groundbreaking ceremony for Audubon’s Waspy Truck Stop will take place on Wednesday, April 26th at 10am. The truck stop will be located at 2709 US Hwy 71 south of Audubon.
The Lawrence Handlos family, along with city and county officials, and members of the Audubon County Economic Development board will be on hand to perform the groundbreaking ceremonies for the $18 Million construction project, which will employ approximately 70 people. Members of the media are invited to attend.
The full-service truck stop, located just south of Audubon, will include a convenience store, restaurant, hotel, truck wash, and diesel repair shop just south of Audubon. Waspy’s is owned by Lawrence and Doris Handlos and their children, Brian and Beth, are assisting with development.
The project should be completed within 18 months.
