STEM Fest a Success

A participant in the STEM Fest at AC/GC High School last weekend learns how to test a urine sample at the Mercy College of Health Sciences table.

Local children from kindergarten-sixth grade and their families participated in STEM Fest 2017 at the AC/GC High School gymnasium on March 25 to learn about science, technology, engineering and math.

The program was held by the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, and booth topics included Exploring with Microscopes, Ethanol Production, Animal Science with Blank Park Zoo, Discover Pollinators, Petri Dish Lab Testing, Fun with Chemistry, Hands-on Technology with Science Center of Iowa, and Food Science.
