U.S. Senator Charles Grassley has scheduled a Town Hall meeting and Whiterock presentation at the River House Barn at Whiterock Conservancy, five miles southeast of Coon Rapids, Friday, May 30 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
The River Barn is on Fig Avenue 2.2 miles south of Highway 141.
Whiterock Conservancy in northern Guthrie County is a nonprofit land trust recently founded to undertake environmental restoration, research and demonstration on sustainable ag and grazing practices, and agro-environmental education.
Whiterock offers the public a chance to experience the historic Garst Farmhouse visited by Nikita Khrushchev in 1959 and to explore the beautiful Middle Raccoon River Valley and its prairies, wetlands, and timbered bluffs.
The Coon Rapids-Whiterock area was named on one of the first three Iowa Great Places in October 2005.
