Midwest Partnership EDC recognized Jack E. Brown, of Greenfield, with the Guy Powell Award for his contributions to the community and organizations he supports at their annual dinner meeting on January 25th in Panora.
The Guy Powell Award was established in honor of the late Guy Powell of Greenfield, who served as president of the Midwest Partnership EDC board of directors and was an active volunteer in several other community organizations. It is intended to recognize excellence in leadership and passion for economic development in the Midwest Partnership EDC region, taking into account vision, leadership, courage, and impact.
Jack was nominated for his selfless volunteering to the many organizations and projects he believes in. He is a contributing member of several organizations including the Development Corporation of Greenfield, Greenfield Chamber/Main Street, Greenfield Lions Club and Greenfield American Legion. His outstanding leadership with the Development Corporation of Greenfield was evident in helping to bring the vision of Cardinal IG, Siegwerk, Inc. (now known as CRT), Pamida (now Shopko), the Main Street organization, revitalization of the E.E. Warren Cultural Center, and a hotel to Greenfield and the Adair County area. The organizations and projects Jack has worked with have brought new businesses and jobs to the area and promoted the communities in the Adair County area.
Please join us in congratulating Jack and thanking him for his commitment to helping grow and revitalize Greenfield and Adair County.
