In 2004, Russell Brands, LLC acquired American Athletic, Inc. ("AAI"), located in Jefferson, Iowa, and consolidated its Spalding® equipment, namely basketball systems, volleyball systems and gymnasium equipment, under one roof, alongside AAI®'s gymnastic and cheer equipment products. In this way, the Spalding® brand of equipment was paired with AAI's 60 years of equipment manufacturing expertise.

 

Owner Revolution, Adair, IA

Owner Revolution Inc. (ORI) is an Iowa based holding company for four wholly-owned subsidiaries. Schafer Systems is a recognized leader in the production of lottery ticket dispensers and promotional displays worldwide. A second business is Connect-A-Dock which sells floating modular dock and personal watercraft float systems in the worldwide marine industry. A third subsidiary is The Plastic Professionals which produces a wide variety of rotationally molded plastic products serving the needs of many industries and customers. A fourth subsidiary is Schafer Solutions providing eye-catching, complete, turn-key point of purchase plastic displays, dispensers and products and solutions designed around our customers’ special needs. ORI has facilities in both Adair and Atlantic, Iowa with combined manufacturing and office space of over 300,000 square feet. Agri Drain, Adair, IA

Agri Drain was founded in 1976 by Charlie Schafer and two of his brothers. The company was founded to install drainage tubing for Iowa farmers. Shortly after, the brothers began manufacturing products for their own projects and also sold products to other contractors. In 1984, construction activities were discontinued in an effort to focus full-time on product development, manufacturing and distribution. The company is unique in that they are America’s most complete manufacturer and supplier of products for drainage water management, wetlands, ponds, lakes, erosion control and land improvement. Today, Agri Drain is a 50-person company, with customers in both the U.S. and Canada.

 

Puck Custom Enterprises, Manning, IA

Ben Puck formed Puck Custom Enterprises in 1979. The company began by offering services to small hog facilities in the area with manure application. In 2009, the company expanded and built manufacturing facility to build drag hose manure equipment. Today, Puck Custom Enterprises has grown and now has customers throughout the Midwest and North America. The company builds hose reels to handle layflat hoses, pumps and injection bars that are used to apply the manure to a field. The company also manufactures variation of mixing and agitation equipment. The company is unique in that they are a family-owned and operated business that builds custom equipment for manure applications. The company employs 26 full-time employees.

 

AMVC, Audubon, IA

AMVC Management Services (AMVC) was formed in 1980 when Audubon Veterinary Clinic purchased Manning Veterinary. Then in 1982, AMVC moved to Audubon, Iowa, and has been based there ever since.

The Audubon County-based company supports the livestock industry by offering a wide range of services including management services, veterinary services, nutritional consultation and employee management services. They are unique in that their employee base is comprised of set of professionals with a diverse skill set that allow their business to provide the complete management of livestock production. John Deere, Paton, IA

Deere & Company purchased Bauer Built Manufacturing Inc. in September 2013. Previously, since 2002, Bauer had made John Deere and Bauer co-branded planters under a design and manufacturing partnership with Deere.  The Paton facility will continue to manufacture 44- to 120- foot ultra wide DB Series planters. By acquiring the facility, the company will expand its portfolio of agriculture equipment, accelerate the growth of the planter business globally, and enhance the opportunity to serve larger farms in key markets around the world. Today the company has 150 employees.
